My new MXT Pro showed up yesterday !!

:super:Well dang it finally showed up and I felt like a kid at Christmas:clap:. I played a bit with it last night at a local park that I had hit many many times over and still managed to pull out a handful of clad that my old detector missed. I did notice that the MXT seemed a little bit noisier than my old detector but I really started to get into the difference in sounds and volume of the different targets. Total for last night $1.87 in misc clad and zincs, 4 pull tabs and a large chunk of rusty pipe that was buried at the base of a tree. I am loving this machine and wanted to say a big thanks to all the posters who have put tons of info on the forums. They have made it a smooth transition to this machine (and a super easy choice). I will keep up posting my finds!:super:

Congrats on your new machine. You're going to love it the more you use it. Keep us posted and so far so good on your finds. You're learning! HH, Nancy

They can be a little "noisier" in some locations, especially with a higher Gain (Sensitivity) setting and when close to EMI interference. in time, however, you'll come to really enjoy the performance.

You didn't mention a search coil used so, if it's a bigger coil like the stock 12" or maybe the 10" DD, and if so you're going to want to consider a smaller-than-stock coil to better handle most common trashy environments. In my opinion, the best choice would the the 6

I have the 12" coil that came with the detector and the 10" DD Eclipse coil (I get to spend some time in gold country from time to time) and my next coil purchase will be the 5.3 Eclipse. I have heard nothing but good about this coil but until money allows again I will be using the 6x10 as my regular coil. Looking forward to hitting some of the parks here in the Portland area:bouncy:

congrats on your new machine. now if you'd like to show it off a little i invite ya to drive on up to kelso for a demo in the park i favor and have been training in. i have the xlt and would really like to see a mxt pro with the 6x10 coil in action. or i could travel down to portland. maybe arrange a small hunt w/ monte at the same time.:detecting:

Sounds like a plan, I have most weekends free, hit me up with a PM.
