I took it for a spin at some local sandy parks, that i have hunted many times before with my cz5.I did dig a few pull tabs {DEEP] under the swings, and i have always dug all signals except iron toneswith my cz. To the more experienced se pro users here,Do you think this detector is ready for the beach ,straight out of the box,i tried it over a couple small gold rings it sings over them .I have read the manual, and this will be just my second outing with it ,what do you think? AFTER of course ,pressing NOISE CANCEL. thanks

That was my detector of choice on Land & the beach at one time , but I had the regular 10 inch coil. I like the dual readings in the digital screen display mode....ferrous, and conductive numbers. Helps weed out some of the junk, never dug anything above the 15-01 reading..Hunted Almetal with the SE, no discrimination..Tones, mid to high tones...... then would check the numbers......here are some pics of a few rings with the Ferr/Cond numbers, all were found with the Excalibur, only hunted one summer in the dry sand, seen that the Gold was mostly in the wet, and you can hunt a little of this area with the SE, from the high tide water line to the low-tide lane, just be-careful water can flow up the shaft to the control box, if you happen to tilt the detector, like set it down a hour later....check out Max's water proof explorer, Fred? Hope this helps...........Good Luck.......Joe

I have a buddy that owns an Excalibur, but all he uses on the beach is an SE Pro. I don't think he has anything tweeked, he may have the gold program from Andy's book. He definately has the finds to prove the Se Pro is excellent on the beach.
