I got it, opened it, and assembled it this morning. The first thing I noticed was the weight...wow. It is certainly a very well made detector. I was playing around in the back yard with it and will be going on my 1st hunt in the morning. Man this thing gets LOUD! Any last minute pieces of advice?

Enjoy.
I bet you will have many great hours of detecting. One more suggestion get yourself a SingyThing from Doc. In Las Vegas.

Get headphones with volume control or you will be deaf by next week............ Also get good digging tools because you will be digging deep.

What is that and how do I get in touch with him?

ThanksW6pea

Got 'em already. I had some here that i will use for now anyway...thanks Rob

It's a harness to attach to your detector. It's called the Swingy Thingy.

If the weight bothers you... try getting a binocular harness and chestmount the control box. Then you will have better access to the controls too. I use the Cabela's Pro harness, it hooks right up to the cover and works great.

For a quick fix to the volume problem Radio Shack sells a little inline volume control, you may need 1/8 to 1/4 adapters but it will help until you can get some better phones with volume controls... or they also sell some small phones that sit on your ear that have an inline volume control. They are good to have as a backup or for when it is 05 degrees out. Temporary fix at the least...
