I want to thank everybody who responded to my questions and here's another: Could someone suggest a good scoop to retrieve objects from in the water? Also it seems everyone gets a straight shaft for there detector, but what do you mean by the strain on the cables?

Also does the excalibur do well on dry land?

Thanky you very much for your help all of you are a class act. It seems all of your spouses must be supportive when you buy this gear. I hope my wife is that understanding:lmfao:

Good hunting everyone and if anybody can suggest anything else I would appreciate it.

you might want to post your questions on the beach and water forum.
All those guys use scoops. The Excal guys have many pics of rod setups and strain reliefs. The strain relief holds the cable so that there is no stress on the connector when hunting. You don't break off wires too easy that way.

You can use it on land too. It will be heavy out of the water.
Works just like a Sov....minus a few knobs and switches.

As far as operation goes, just about anybody here can help.....like I said.....works like a Sov.
