My new Excal sang a pretty song

I took my new Excalibur II to See the Ocean today. Targets were very few and very far between. I found four dimes and some pennies along with some trash. Even the pull tabs were hiding.

One time today my Excal sang me a pretty song and I thought that it was lying to me until I got home and broke out the magnifying glass so that I could see the markings in the ring that it found. I thought that I was seeing a GF in the hallmark. Got it home and it is 7.9 grams of 14K white gold. My first beach gold.

Found an I-Pod as I was leaving the beach after six hours of detecting in the water and on the sand. Water was moving quite badly and it was difficult to maintain my balance and also very hard to move the coil due to the current that was set up by the waves and wind. The I-pod was in the dry sand and it says that it needs to have its battery charged. I guess I will make a trip to an "Apple" store and see if i want to invest in a charger.

Someone forgot to warn me that six hours in the sun in 80+ degree temps would get one Burned. Oh Well I think it was worth it.

Nice ring. Hopefully the first of many with the Excal'.

Congrats on the gold George! I had to remember the hard way, early this year, about forgetting the sunblock:lol:

Way to go!
On that iPod, if you know a teenaged girl, just ask to borrow a charger (this happened to me once, and my iPod worked! so I gave it to the girl who was kind enough to offer me a charger).
And thanks to your suffering, a Bass Pro floppy hat is now on my shopping list before I do my next beach trip.

Hi George,

Very nice piece there and what you are seeing inside the band for the hallmark is the, "FG" standing for Frederick Goldman, a premier jewelry maker. Here is the sight.

The hallmark has a C inside a Circle followed by an F and then something that even a magnifying glass does not tell me what it might be.

Good find white gold is not as common as yellow i only found 1 white gold ring 14k so far . GH Jim

Nice! I rarely make it to the salt environment, but also found my first white gold last month. WTG!

white gold--my firfst too can't seem to part with it and it is a beauty--nice job--hope the ipod works out for you as well

Thanks for the info. I now see what you were talking about. I was confused by the C inside the Circle. That is what I thought was a G when I first found the ring. My old eyes have to have a bit of assistance to see hallmarks clearly even though I do wear glasses.
