This is my second one. I bought my first one about a month after I started detecting. I was so flipped out by all of the adjustability, I sold it. But now, I have a question, I am about to go hunting at a new place. How do I ground balance??

did you get a manual with it?

I would also suggest reading the WHOLE manual before leaving your door with it...Or at least view all of these videos...

HH,

Kevin just do a noise cancel and start out on Auto + 3 sensitivity. Now if you want to go to manual sensitivity just push the left button and set it where you want. When you locate a target try just wiggling your coil slightly pulling the coil toward you when the sound dissapears the target will be RIGHT in front of your coil. Good luck and congratulations on getting yourself a very fine machine. HH :minelab:

The E-Trac does all that on its own. Auto + 3 is a bit much unless the ground is super clean. +2 or one is plenty to learn on. Coins mode is a GREAT place to start. Holler if you need help Kevin!

Thanks for the replies guys. I am about to go on a Sat morn hunt in old yard. Took the trac yesterday to an old fariground. Managed two Wheaties in a trashy area. It's a wonderful feeling to see 12-43,44,45 pop up on the screen aint it!!!.
Bart at Bigboyshobbies gabe me an AWESOME deal on this brand new Etrac. This is one powerful machine!! The most powerful that I own. (In fact, I have bought all but one of my machines from Bart at Bigboyshobbies and he ALWAYS ships the same day and goes out of his way to please. VERY dependable and very trustworthy)

Found two mercury dimes and an Indian Head cent and a wheatie with it yesterday. This unit sure sings purty when she's over silver.
