also will get a minimum of 3" depth with the pinpointer probe, which is at least 3 times the depth of my Vibraprobe 560 or Bullseye pinpointer. Plus since the FZ1 is an inline probe, it utilizes the tones of your machine to identify targets + your detectors descrimination settings + the sensitivity of the of the machine as well.
When I have mine attached to my 70, with sensitivity at 4, I hit a penny at 3 + inches deep. Just think of the FZ1 probe as a very small coil.
I hooked the FZ1 probe up to my new 3d this morning and tried it out and it worked every bit as well as it did on my CZ70. What I will do a lot of the time is once I hit & recover a target & before standing back up, I will take the FZ1 probe and pass it over the area as far as I can reach with the cord attached. This way I can recover a few more shallow targets before standing up. Well I say shallow, but some of them this morning were a good 3-4" deep.
The final plus in my opinion, is when you have that hard to find target in the hole and even sticking the probe in the hole, you still can't pinpoint it very well, you can push the pinpoint button on the machine, which will help you zero in one the target and recover it easier.
Now, the draw backs of the FZ1, well, the main draw back is, if you own and use several other detectors, then the FZ1 wouldn't help with the other machines unless they are CZ's. I own all CZ's right now, so it works great for me. The only other draw back is, unlike the Vibraprobe or Bullseye, the FZ1 is sensitive along most of its shaft rather then just at the tip. But the tip is the most sesitive part of the FZ1, so its not that big a deal.
I'm not a salesman for Sunray and don't benefit from this at all, I only state the facts as I see them. But I think you would like the probe. Now, the FZ1 is like any other probe or pinpointer, you have to get used to it. Heck, when I first got mine I wasn't sure about it, but now I think its great, the same with the Vibraprobe, when I first got it, I didn't like it, but now I think they are some of the best probes made, I just wish it had a little more depth.
Well, I hope this helps,

Mike
