Well, I have had it a month. I bought it from the fellow who i buy all my detectors from and that is Bart at Bigboyshobbies. He always hooks me up and ships the same day. Us compulsive types MUST HAVE same day shipping. And a tracking number!!! LOL So that we can follow it all the way to our door.
But anyway, this is my second AT Pro. My first one was bought back in March of this year. Garrett has improved the AT Pro significantly since March. I'm not just talking about the locking cams and longer arm guard. I am talking performance-wise. My test garden has coins and bullets buried for 3 to 9 inches. I have a mercury dime at 8 inches which this machine hits easily and gives correct reading. My last AT Pro only did the occasional iron grunt with no reading when passed over it. This machine actually hits better in my test garden than did my F-75LTD and much better than my E-Trac. This one is a keeper. I went ahead and bought the smaller dd coil. I think it's 5 x 8 inches, Im not sure which, but it has proven to be a killer at an old homeplace that is literally blanketed with iron, nails, etc. Several wheat pennies and a silver dime from among the mess. I turned on iron audio when I hit those targets to see how much iron was in surrounding them. The iron was so dense that it causes a constant roar, but out of the roar came the 'bleep bleep bleep' as I passed back and forth over the good targets. I have racked up some great Civil War finds, bullets and buttons, and small buckles since getting this machine. I definitley got my money's worth. Heck, they even included a pretty dang nice backpack. coil cover, and a Garrett AT Pro cap in the box. Along with a thick book titled Relic Quest. Pretty informative book. Good reading on days like today when it's too wet and rainy to hunt. Merry Christmas to all of my fellow AT Pro owners and relic hunters and coin shooters. Good luck and great hunting to all of you. Kevin
