My MXT stands for gold!

Been reading some of the messages and thought I'd give a plug for the ole MXT. I've been using it for a couple of months and so far I'm completly satisfied with it's performance! Trying it in relic mode and with a little discrimination, an with the gain up to 2+ (with high tension lines close by) I located this ring (starsaphire, diamond chips, 10k). Started using the prospector mode in the parks and came up with this tiny gold ring, with a zip I'll never forget (also when the hypersat is all the way on, you can pick some of the smallest of items I think I've ever ran across, silver clasps, zipper teeth, earings, rivets, etc.). I have noticed that my nickle count has increased by two fold, but what I noticed mostly is all my dates are ranging from 1964-1941 in parks that have seen way to many detectors in their time. Also enjoy what I call the all silver mode (cranking the discrimination on all the way, relic mode, and trigger forward) for cherry pickin coins at schools. Can't wait to see what it'll dig up next (well I'll dig it, the MXT will just point it out). :clapping: HH Rick

Nice finds. I'm very interested in your approach. Who cares about pocket change whan you have gems. Am curious about your settings. I've been using MTX since August. Also have Minelab Sov. Elite but thought I'd give Whites a try. I have a 9.5 coil but favor the 4X6DD in parks. I started on Coin, switched to Relic a lot but decuded to go to Prospecting - Prospecting gives a lot of info. Do you use the highest SAT and how much Disc. do you use, and what level of threshold? Am also curious on your take on 'silver mode'. Does that mean you turn Disc. all the way clockwise? I've been detecting in a park that's 150 years old - Katherine Hepburn used to hang out there as well as J.P. Morgan and Mark Twain. In one area, I picked up .38 cal. slugs, bullets, and some mercs. I know there's still valuables there. Most interested in your setup - I think you may have a good handle. Mike

Nice rings ! there are very few things that'll take your breath away--- is that when you see yellow at the bottom of the hole.... Keep up the good work. Gene

Very nice finds Rick. And thanks for the video. COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great finds!!!!!!
I also have an MXT. Got a good deal on a used one.
Following some advice from (Rick in N/C I think?) I started useing the MXT in relic mode with the gain
set at 9 and higher at +3 if the circumstances can bear it. Use relic mode for coins as well.
I get good results.

Regards
Robert
