My MXT Crashed and Burned.

I was having a great hunt today picking up a nice bunch of clad and some odds and ends, that is until the S shaft broke completely off just in front of the handle. In all my years of detecting I have never had one break that is until now. It just snapped off without any warning. I take good care of my detectors and I don't abuse them, so I don't know why it broke where it did. I tried to contact White's to order a new one, but they are closed until Monday. I am going to beg my wife and see if she will let me use her MXT tomorrow. Thanks for looking. HH Dennis in Idaho

I have never seen any thing like that - ever..... I have drooped mine off the back of a 4 X 4 ATV a couple of times and nothing like that ever happened....... Knowing Whites they will stand behind it, and send you a new one...:whites::thumbup:... But that's still a bummer!!!!

It looks like you were getting in a good hunt too. We have up to 4 inches of snow forecast for tonight through Monday morning, so I wanted to get out for maybe the last time this year. I posted on the Minelab forum. http://www.findmall.com/read.php?19,856963

You did good Larry, nice finds

I like those old ones. Too bad Nancy didn't get out. I hope she gets better. Rob

You did great on that hunt..

Must have been a defective rod to break like that.
Whites should give you one free of charge I would think.

That's quite a bummer Dennis. I would be very surprised if White's don't make it right. Why don't you and your wife go out together and one detect and one retrieve? Then take turns. Nice bunch of finds and I wish I could have joined in the hunt today. Maybe next time it's a bit warmer out and I don't have this cold. Great finds Dennis, Nancy

Thanks Rob, It wasn't too hard staying home. It was either that or possibly be in the hospital. Mama didn't raise no fool.. ;) I'm so happy that you and others got out and found some really great treasures. NICKELS!!!!!!! Boy, what a bounty! I'm tickled to have seen the picture of them. Thanks and thanks to everyone for the pics and story of all the finds. I'll be dreaming all about it.......next year! HH to all, Nancy

That's definitely more of a surprise failure to me than most. I doubt it happens often - too bad it's your luck to show us that it can.
Hope you get it back together soon.
