Got out today and found 23 coins. Thats my most ever in one hunt with my DFX. The all mighty keeper of the silver coins won't come off of any yet. The best part of the hunt was I had a great time= Priceless.

You hold the key to success in this hobby Robbie. Hunt to have fun........ and when you find something extra special, it is just that much more fun.....:bouncy:

I took off work early today because it was such a nice day and figured it might be the last chance to do a little MDing for awhile with the snow and cold headed this way. No silver yet this year but I did find a couple wheat's. Oldest one was 1924. Its was great to be out swinging and chatting with all of the other people walking by enjoying the weather. I was doing a little side walk huntin today.

Sounds like you're on your way with that DFX. Fantastic to get out and swing a coil in this January weather. You'll find that silver. Isn't this hobby addicting! And fun too!!!! HH, Nancy

So my 43 coins in one day and the second day out ever is a good day..gurr thats not what i wanted to know..lol

You are welcome to join us Mike, you are on the Peoria IL club forum, you should introduce yourself. I see you are 39 and from Kenosha, WI. What is it you wanted to know, 43 coins isn't bad, that should increase with experience though.

I found a little over 8$ in quarters near a camp ground on the side of the road where vendors were set up for the trail of tears, it only took minutes to pull the coins since there were shallow, I never had that luck like that since!

This might not be what you were asking, but Nancy and I used to go "cladding" and we had many $50 days and even a few $55 dollar days. I think our record was $57 something. We would go from one sports field to another so I guess it would be several hunts in one day. Since the average per dig is 11 cents, that means we were digging about 600 coins in a day, 300 each. Most of them were not even digs, just pops I guess because most were shallow and a screwdriver just popped them out of the ground.

I can't even fathom finding that much in any given day. Most of the places I hunt have all had metal detectors over them for several years. Guess you could say I will take what I can get. :)
