Ok everyone give it to me - your a bad boy Steve for opening up that Tesoro!!! C'mon I have wide shoulders, lol. I got bored and put a pinpoint button on my Silver uMax, it doesn't need one because it pinpoints so well without it. Just something I have been wanting to do. I went to a very small school tonight to try out my masterpiece - I have hunted this school several times in the past. I found 66 coins tonight a total of $5.35 22 of them nickels (I like finding nickels because I know alot of rings fall in this range), I found a K of C (Knights of Columbus) good luck token, 2 necklaces without the chains, 1(cheap) ring & a silver bracelet. All in all a great night & alot of fun. Steve.
I know my mod had nothing to do with my finds but it didn't hurt anything either.

Nice hunt.

Neat button. Looks just like a Tesoro button.

Does the switch do the same thing as the button?

HH,

Thanks Tabdog, I used a SPST push-button momentary switch that I bought at Radio Shack. The hole is already in the faceplate from the factory but I did have to drill it out some. Steve.

The push button switch that I installed does the same thing as putting the switch that comes on the Silver uMax in all metal.
thats what I need on mine.
It is very easy to do pulltab. But I am not encouraging doing any sort of modifications as it will more than likely void the warranty. Steve.

The Silver's so easy to pinpoint with-and I've developed what I call X-axis pinpointing. Most people scan left to right along the X-axis,then up and down(y-axis) and where the two lines cross is where the target is(standard method given in all manuals.) I just scan along the X-axis and the scan that is the loudest is the x-axis line that I use. Then, I slow the Silver down and with my eyes focusing in the center of the coil as it is moving listen for the beep and my eyes instantly "freeze" on that spot on the ground. The reason it is so accurate is that the response begins as the target ENTERS the coil field and by the time you hear it it's in the center of the coil because of Tesoro's fast response. And you,as you practice it, can get even more precise by double checking it with another swing or two back and forth. I have actually pinpointed on the return sweep. Now, can you imagine how effective this is in a sponsored hunt where speed is of the essence? I know that some of the prizes I won were because of the speed of this method.

Hey Steve very nice hunt! I would say you did very well. I actually like you mod. It looks like it belongs there. Good job on both, Beale.
