My lttle brother just smoked me!

I get this kid (my brother is 6 years younger than me) into detecting and he smokes EVERYTHING ive found so far this year! A super nice New York militia civil war uniform button. Found on private property on Long Island out east by the Hamptons. We may even have attribution to the soldier who lived on this property and lost this button! Working on that aspect right now. The backmark only says plated with a sort of wheatsheaf under it. So if anyone has the button book and can narrow down a time frame by the backmark, id greatly appreciate it!

Only one listed as GILT, #NY 12 A1, PLATED L & T in Alberts Book.

Tice's Book lists it as NY 110 As3 GILT. 1815 - 1830, British Manufacture.

These are 16mm in diameter. Is yours 16mm? Both books list only one GILT button, all the other varieties are silver plated. If yopu can measure it's Diameter and maybe a clearer obverse and reverse picture would help.

Love it. I bet you wouldn't have it any other way either. Cool find. HH, Nancy
