I went to the "big hunt" in VA nad had a blast. Below are my finds from the hunt. I ended up with 21 buttons, but some are in very rough shape, mostly Eagles. 30 bullets( 1 69 cal, 2 Gardners, 5 Washington Arsenal, and 2 pistol), belt keeper, brass candle stick holder, canteen spout (has a wood plug in it), bullet worm, and finial. Some of my nicer finds were a Massachusetts state staff button, it has "MASS. VOLUNTEER MILITIA" on the front. A sabot off a 3 inch hotchkiss canister, it reads "HOTCHKISS 3 IN JAN. 7TH 1862 PANTENT"and of course my CS TONGUE. Enjoy the pics.

SgtLowe, hey, really nice relics! I am glad you got to go and had good success. A guy on treasure net going by Rockscot00 is trying to get a message to you. He said he was just transferred to the Wood and wanted to find someone in that area to hunt with. I told him to check this site and get in touch with you. Tsgman

I think it is a candle holder. It is threded on one end like it would screw into a wood base. There also appears to be wax still inside it.

WTG John, my first buckle was a mangled mess of a US, the Relic/Military Gods are with you for sure. Its my first look at your other finds, man you did well. The Hotchkiss piece is really cool, don't find those everyday either. Once again Congrats on the Sweet Buckle :clapping: and look me up your next visit to Ole Virginny.

Nice Diggin,
Dave
