My last two hunts.....................:detecting:

I haven't posted in awhile. Weather has been crappy with snow, rain and freezing temperatures. Nothing to brag about, but I did manage to find silver and a small gold ring. The first picture is stuff from an old scout camp. Two silver quarters, 1946 and 1964, 1943 merc, 1936 buffalo, 1958 wheat, small gold wedding band, a pocket angel and a neat old pea-whistle called the Acme Thunderer made in England. The second picture is from an old Christian camp. 1906 Barber dime, 1941 merc, 1919, 1940, 1944 and 1948 wheaties and a B&I ride token. Thanks for looking and HH.

Thanks KCK. I'm not doing anything special. The ground has been very wet especially at that scout camp we hunted. As soon as you flipped your plug over, the hole would fill up with water. I did trying using both deep and fast on in recover at the same time. There was plenty of junk all over the place, but I was still able to find some keepers..................... HH.

Good going Eddie,
boy it can be tough finding a target in a wet sticky muddy plug huh!

A great result, and good to get out eh !!!:clapping:

I really do believe that wet ground brings out the silver targets. Having your hole fill up with water almost immediately might be a little too wet, but I'm not complaining..............:clapping: Our club has another hunt this Sat and I hope the wet ground is good to me one more time. We have gotten lots of silver from this place in previous hunts and I'm thinking that there are still some silver left to be discovered. HH.

Nice assortment of finds you got at those 2 sites. There should be more there so keep on working them, especially the older site that you found the Barber Dime at. Good Luck and HH if you get out again during the week. :detecting:

Thanks James. I agree that there might still be some older coins at that one place, but we only get to hunt there once a year, so it won't be till next year when we can go back. I got some good books on places around my area with lots of stories and neat old pictures. Very interesting stuff and I may find some places to hunt that might be worth while. I have a story for you so check your PM's. HH.
