My last three meager outings.

I won't go into too much detail as my left hand isn't working and I'm having to type with only one finger. Last three outings were on the slim side, but getting out is half the fun.:clapping: My coins were in the wheaties: 1-1923, 2-30's, 1-37, 1-39, 2-41's, 1-44, 1-45, 2-49's, 1-50, 2-51's, 1-52, 3-53's, 1-57, 1-58 and a 19??.Nickles were a 1918 buff, 1945 war nickle and a 1911 V nickle. Dimes were 1941, 43 and 45 mercs, 49 and 50 rosies and two Canadians 1943 and 44. My Barber quarter was 1898 and the worst looking one that I have found. It looks like it was hit with a sandblaster!! You will notice that the V-nickle has a rounded shaded area on the face. I found the Barber quarter and that nickle not too far from each other and I'm wondering if maybe that quarter was lying on top of that nickle and maybe in an old coin purse or something? That nickle had to have been in something as I have never dug a V-nickle in that good of condition. This area has been cleared off for some new military housing units coming in and I have gotten three other Barber coins from there. Use to be nothing but chicken farms all over this place years ago before the Navy bought up all that property. I better get back there before it's all buried, but we are getting lot's of rain now. I guess that is good, but it's not much fun detecting in the rain. My jewelry were two silver rings, a man's 14kt gold wedding band and a 14kt chain and fish tail. Thanks for looking and best of luck to all on your next outing. HH.

Way to go Eddie. There's no such thing as meager. You made some very nice finds and like you said...It's all about getting out. I'm out there to have fun...make some stress go away...and if I'm lucky enough to find a few coins...that makes it even better. You made some very nice finds buddy. Keep on diggin'...before the cold weather takes over.

Thanks Bryce. Detecting is a great stress releiver that is for sure.:clapping: Getting some rain here and the cold weather is on it's way so we better get in all the detecting we can. Good luck on your next outing and HH.

It's been a while since I got that ring, but I think this one came in about two thirds of the way up and just to the right of center screen and digital reading was 16 on my XS. Sometimes you just have to play your hunches and dig and gold rings will be your reward.:clapping: HH.

Meager! When I show the title I thought maybe I can uplift the fellow or maybe secretly I am sort of happy because "misery loves company" but seeing those finds all you are going to get out of me is congrats and that's that! :pulltab:

I was supposed to get up at 10:30am as I went to bed at 2:30 but I go up at 8:45 and was raining slightly so I thought I am going out and getting some coins. We're still getting 60

Thanks King. I have hunted in the rain a few times, but it's not my favorite type of weather to be detecting in. Usually it was a matter of getting caught in unexpected rain and when you have to drive as far as I do to find any good stuff then you hate to leave no matter what the weather is. I'll be back at that place I like to call my "Barber Garden" as soon as I can.:clapping:HH.

I did post a good day here a while back. Maybe you didn't see that one. Like most of us detectorists and the way I look at it is, if you can get out and enjoy this great hobby then it's a good day and the finds are just the icing on the cake.:clapping:HH.

You found some nice stuff and I am glad that you got the Pics downloaded alright. I'd KILL for just 1 Gold Item! Looks like you got my Barber Quarter also! But that's alright Eddie, were still friends.:buds: Good to hear about how the Club Meeting went also. Hope you get back to that site and work it hard since it doesn't take long to get buildings up on that Old Ground. Hope to see many more Keepers buddy and Good Luck and HH to you on your next outing.

Thanks again James. The gold seems to come for me as I do dig a lot of pull-tabs and once in a while you get a signal that in most cases turns out to be junk, but then at times a gut feeling tells you to dig and out pops gold. I don't post all the crap I dig. Nobody wants to see pictures of junk and I would rather save the forum space for posting good stuff. Some of which by the way I owe thanks to you for your tips.:beers: Good luck on your next outing as well and HH buddy.

Any day you get any kind of barber coin is a damn good day in my opinion.
I'm lucky if I get more than a few in a year.

Those are good finds in my book. As you know our area around here is well hunted and anytime you can spend the day outdoors and dig an oldie or two is a good day. Fall is here and the underbrush in the woods is starting to thin out so I will be hitting some new sites soon.I hope my research will pay off again this year.

Thanks crazyman. I agree 100% on what you said. By no means and I hope everyone else who saw my post didn't think I was being a smart A$@ by refering that my finds were meager. Finding just one old coin is really nice to find and when I called my finds meager I only meant it in a way that it will never compare to the finds that James and Bryce post on the forum and I should have added that in my post. It would be great to find the Barbers, seated and large cents that they fine back east, but we all know that's not going to happen around here. HH and good luck on the research that you did and hope you find some neat finds.

Eddie

Thanks Chris and I do agree that any barber is a good day of detecting. Just wish there were more of them around here. Still waiting for my first seated and it will come one day I hope. HH.

Eddie

Didn't get around to it earlier but nice finds in your field of dreams and I notice the neat and unlikely find of the chain and tail. A lot of people probably know but some may not that the way you mount a good Halibut is to mount the Tail only on a pedestal. Not sure what yours is but to me it's fish tale for sure or a whale of a tale. Nice finds Dude. You got my vote.
HH John
