hey everybody, here are the results of my last couple of hunts. i haven't had much time to post lately due to a heavy work schedule. but, looking at today's economy, that's a good problem to have! i see everybody is digging some nice relics up. there's a few dropped bullets, but mostly shot spencers and sharps. i think i might have found a broken sword pommel too. the rough plain shield eagle button was found yesterday evening along with the old iron stirrup and bar of chewed lead. it's rough, but it's still a button! i been finding lots of flatbuttons and rivets lately too. the roller buckle came as a neat surprise.
there's a good bit of small brass included too. j hook pieces and brass clips of all sorts keep cropping up. now that the wheat has been cut, i gotta move fast before they put the soybeans in. yeah, them shotgun shells sound soooo good, i ain't even gonna tell you how many i've dug lately. seems like hundreds! i hope today's hunt goes well. olddigger and myself think there was a running cavalry fight along this road we been hunting lately. i haven't found that nice tongue and wreath yet, but i'm still looking! thanks for looking and reading, good luck, and hh!

I hear you brother about heat, wheat fields, and shot gun shells. You gotta dig when you can and dig what sounds good even if it ain't! Thanks for posting and HH!
Mike

Gray: Nice finds. Never have found a sword pommel and hate shot gun shells. Believe the large buckle is a saddle girth buckle. Nice finds.
