hey everybody! the first pic of relics was found friday in the woods near the house, and the second pic is of the hunt frank and i went on this morning. i don't think i've ever dug such mangled and hard hit bullets like i did on friday. there's few rivets, what i think might be a solder - on shank for an old flat button, a 1928 cent, a real nice yankee coat button, a mutilated coat button, a back, [all have the scoville /waterbury bm's] some lead melt, some p caps, a couple of grommets, and a couple of .44 balls.

i had lost my silver wedding band out in the woods four years ago. being in a hurry, i saw i had my band on, so i put the ring in my pocket. well, i didn't know about the hole in my pocket. i went on to have a good day, finding a bunch of relics and a lost brass wedding band crudely inscibed " i love jol'" that a soldier may have lost during the battle. when i got home, i cleaned everything up, and reached into my pocket to get the ring back on my finger. i was stunned when i felt the hole. worse than that, i had to explain to my wife what had happened. uh oh. i went back several times trying to find it, but never did - until friday.

i drive by that set of woods daily. the thought of the lost ring was renewed daily, much to my chagrin. we recently found out new houses are going to be built in those woods, so i knew my time was running short.

you know how the best finds descriptions always go - " i was walking back to the truck...." yep! it was the very last thing i dug friday, much to my relief. they can build all the dam houses they want to now! but - to lose a wedding ring, then to find another on the same day - almost exactly 4 years apart - how's that for karma? yes virginia, there really is a detecting god! just ask me. thanks for reading, and hh!

Awesome man! I know finding that ring made your day. Cool finds and glad you were able to hit that site before its gone. Nice relics!

Well Gray Ghost, I'm going tosee if you are right,,, In 1974 my wife and I were married and we each had rings, but mine did not fit right so we were on our way to get it sized,, Now picture this,, 1974, summer time, hot, no A/C so windows were down,, and I was driving,, And she says "Let me see your ring for a minute"... It was on my finger but TIGHT so I told her to pull it off,,, I crossed my left arm in front of me toward her and she pulled,, when the sweat lubricated the finger the ringcame off and flew out the window,,, I looked into the rearview and saw it bounce and lost sight of it,,, After looking for a few hours we gave up,, Now after all these years I have the time and a brand new Exterra -70 and I'm going back to that spot and see if I can find it,,, I will let you know in a couple of weeks...
