Well I was in need of a pick me up so I went out to the woods by my house. It was an old Boy Scout camp back starting around the 20's and lasted thru the 60's. I have found 5 other mercs there. I wanted to try my SE on some deep iffy signals. Well the very first iffy that I got was this merc. Then my 2nd iffy was my wheatie. I also found some old junk to, but not bad for an hour's worth of work. Both the merc and the wheatie were down about 9 inches, and they bounced side to side like a good iffy should. I want to get back out in the woods soon, but it is a major pain with all of the tall grass and the saplings all over the place, man I can't wait for fall when everything starts to die off. Its almost too much trouble but I am a glutton for punishment. LOL Thanks for looking.
I was ran out after 3 hours. I couldn't stand the biting flies!!!! Oh and not to mention the spiders that make their webs in between 2 trees, the you walk into them, one after another, after another, after another!!!! I was wearing bug spray but the flies love that stuff. The mosquito's didn't bite me but they kept flying close to my eyes and nose, so I had to on a few occasions hold my breath so I don't inhale them.
I was digging all sorts of iffy targets in an attempt to learn more about my machine. Today was the first day that I actually succeeded in finding not one - but two Nickels. So I was happy, and the old Roosie was the icing on the cake!!! I also found a few old shotgun shells, 3 forks, 2 dinner knifes, a ton of deep foil, and a few pull tabs. When I found the 1930 Wheatie I thought I found another 1910, but 1930 is still cool. I hunted in the same place on numerous occasions with my Ace 250, but to its credit, it has found a lot of old coins for me. Today I was using my SE and just digging iffy signals. I was going to dig all of the solid signal that I would come across, but I didn't find any. Thanks for looking.
