My largest Ring ever, but only Silver.

I took my Granddaughter to a Swimming hole not far from her home today, got in the water for a couple hours. I found a heavy Class Ring 26 grams and a small silver ring. Then came the lightning and a mad dash for the car. I didn't take my camera to the park. I promised an older (74) Pirate that I wouldn't post pics. of the park, he is limited to the amount of time he can hunt and this is the only place close to his home. I respect that, and he is a great guy to talk to, some good stories. It is to far for me to go to, except when I visit my kids. Here is today's loot.

Thanks for looking. HH

Reminds me of a ring I saw years ago in the San Jacenta Monument Museum near Houston, Texas. The ring was supposed to belong to Sam Houston and was so large I thought I could use it as a bracelet!!! He must have been one of those guys with a hand that would make the average fellow feel like a child when he shook hands!!!

Great find Papa!!

It is cool the person I notified had some one find her ring and return it from a lake where she had lost it. Here is a copy of the e-mail I got back today. I sent e-mail out last night at 9:00 pm.

Mr. Wood,
It is people like you who keep me thinking positive about society today! I will pass your email on to Col. Hingle with our ROTC program, as well as to Kay Kinder, our bookkeeper, who often gets requests for information on how to replace lost class rings. Thank you for taking the time to try to find the owner. I lost my own high school ring in a lake in Kentucky in the summer of 1973, and a kind soul such as yourself tracked me down and returned it to me after finding it a year later. So, believe me, I truly appreciate your efforts!

Here is the second e-mail from the school. HH

Mr Wood,

I appreciate your honesty and efforts to find the owner. Wow! You're restoring my faith in mankind. The cadets return from summer break on Monday, and I'll inquire if any of them lost their ring at a swimming hole near Tampa and let you know. I'm certain that if it's one of them, they'll be ecstatic to hear of its recovery.

Thank you for the trouble you went through to locate and contact the unit here in Wauchula. Have a great day.
