My grandaughter Anika finds another goodie. :)

Kindergarten is finally over for the year, and Anika is spending the weekend with ole Grandpa. She wanted me to take her for a ride on the motorcycle tonight, so off we went.

She said she would like to stop off at the city park to play on the playground so I parked it and we spent a little time on the monkey bars and swings. I told her that Grandma and I detected that park from time to time and we would try to bring her down there with her detector in the next few days so she could find something. She looked around the playground and headed for the sand area. She walked around looking at the ground and then bent down and started digging with her bare hands, like a kitty digging a hole. I laughed at her and asked her if she thought she would find something like that, with no detector. After about 5 seconds of digging, no kidding! 5 seconds! She pulled up this watch.

It is a Gruen, the date is off, but it is running. The kid doesn't even need a detector to show me up! I am going to have my hand full trying to keep up with this kids finds. Grandma's detecting blood runs through her veins!

She got up this morning not feeling well. We had plans of fishing and detecting, but she was not up to it. As the morning went on she started to double over with stomach pains. We called her Mom who called the doctor and off to the emergency room we went.

They ran every test in the book on her. They thought for a while it might be her gall bladder or pancreas. They did ultra sounds and all that stuff and could not find anything wrong with her.

She had to have an I.V. put in, and that was just murder for her. At last the lab work came back and they concluded that the only thing wrong with her was severe dehydration and some bowel blockage caused by the dehydration.

I am so thankful that is all that is wrong, but they are going to keep and eye on her for a few days to make sure. We would appreciate your prayers for her. I hope she will be up and hanging around with grandpa soon.

Thanks for listening. DC
