It's been a rough couple of weeks regarding "finds" for my treasure hunting outings. Since our little treasures at the 1880's farmhouse, my findings have been rather scarce. No silver at all for 3 weeks now. Uggg! Friday, Saturday, and Sunday was spent at some pretty old places and I had nothing to show for Friday not even a wheat, one "1936" buffalo nickel on Saturday, and skunked completely today. Unbelievable. Rob at least, found a Merc today!!
Rob was all smiley and I was trying to be happy (ha ha ha) just bumming cuz of my slump. While I was getting ready for bed, Rob came upstairs and said - your so called "1936" buffalo nickel is actually a 1913 first year raised ground buffalo nickel and it's in spectacular shape. That really made my day/night!!!! It's funny, when I was trying to read the date ... I saw a 3 and just assumed 1936.
I hope you all have a terriffic week and let's find some silver!!!
Before/After pics: Rob is spectacular at cleaning coins!!! By the way, I will include a picture of one of his great finds the other day. An 1836 hard times token. Wow!!!!
