My flooded park

After 6 1/2 inches of rain on Tuesday, I decided to go to my favorite park that I hunt a lot to assess the water levels. This river is normall anywheres from 20 feet wide to 60 feet wide and 3 feet to 8 feet deep. All the hills have been used since the late 1800's to the present to sled down in the winter. The water was about 3 feet higher before I got there. Where the water is, is where we normally detect. This IS a floodplain park! As you can see, it is flooded. All pics shown were taken in EXR mode on my FujiFilm HS20EXR high zoom, bridge camera. Enjoy ....nge

Most of the parks here are shaped like basins and have big metal drains at the bottom of them where they take in the rain water. They do flood though when the drains become plugged. :)

No metal drains here. Today, just a few puddles, all flooding is gone........nge

These are some nice pictures of the flooded area, thanks for sharing. Kelley (Texas) :)
