I always enjoy hearing those deep, fluty sounds of silver, so whenever you can, record the signal if you think you've got a "silver"! :detecting:

Thanks to everyone for the positive comments.

Dan, I've watched your video's a hundred times and tried to learn from them.
Hope you're out hunting again soon.
Yes, I'll try to remember to pull the plug on the headphones when I get a good signal so everyone can hear.
Lots of things to try and remember when taking video.
Then there's the job of editing. I have a new found respect for those who edit video.

yea good finds but for gods sake is a SHOVEL really needed in that manicured area...also does anyone in your group ever use a drop cloth...jeesh...hope no newbies ever think that is the proper recovery method...cause it looks to me like you guys will be the key in loosing your detecting spot with those kind of recovery methods

Nice job on your first video. Look forward to seeing more to come. TX

Nice job on the video
thanks for sharing

in stead of rubbing them with dirt on them, as this scratches them... Imagine digging a 1916D or 1901S Barber, and losing a bunch of bucks for scratching it up further. However, that was the kind of soil I love hunting in, nice and organic brown... LOL. WTG... HH.

The Parks Dept would have fined me around $250 and revoked my permit if i recovered like that. Never ever rub the silvers :nono: Soake and run them under water when you get home. If you look at a rubbed silver under a magnifying glass you will see streaks of scratches. Nice vid and finds none the less though :surrender:

The recovery techniques used were appropriate for the area we were hunting. Most of the areas we hunt have hard, red, Oklahoma clay; yes, a shovel as you call it is necessary IMO. (By the way it's not a shovel; it's a Lesche Ground Shark; a tool specifically designed for those of us in our hobby.) In 13 years of detecting I've never had a complaint from anyone. As long as the holes are back filled, there is no problem.

There is no Parks Dept here and no permit required to metal detect so there is no permit to revoke. Again, as long as the holes are back filled, there is no problem.

Don't judge the way we do things here by the way you do things where you live. All places are not the same.
