Remember that post from Sept 3rd? How I saw the finger tracks in the sand where somebody had lost a ring the day before? Today in the lost and found section of CL was the plea for the return...I called and met them and heres a shot of one real happy lady! That was a .58karat diamond in it...I'm the baldheaded guy.:rofl:..they said they hustled down there the very next morning with a different detectorist but it was gone! I said, thats because I was there at 5 am! :rofl:..I dont know why these things happen, out of the miles of beach and sand and as fast as it could change, it could have been lost forever, lots of other fellows sweep this beach, very humbling to think about it, I didn't expect to encounter the feelings from this side of the sport when I started 3yrs ago...all I wanted was to get some exercise and pick up enough clad for a beer or two...its been a good summer with the Pro, its made a lot of people happy.

You did a good thing MudPuppy, great return!! Just seeing the smile on that young lady's face is worth way more than the ring!! Good job!!

Nice one, mud! Say, I lost a 74.5 gram .999 gold chain last time I went for a dip around there... I don't suppose you happened across it????

Nice.........! Nothing better in life than to be able to bring a heart smile to another, cheers mud, well done.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::clapping:!!!

That is a helluva sweet thing you did. That you happen to scan the classifieds when the ad for its return was running is remarkable. Some folks regularly scan the classifieds, but I rarely even look at printed newspapers in this digital age. Really a heap of good karma coming your way!
Regarding the class ring I'm trying to return, I called the school told the operator what I was trying to do and was hooked up with the voice mailbox of the guidance director. It's been about 4 days and no one has called me after I left my contact info. Guess I will call again Monday.
Really nice going Mud, great picture of joy there.

Mud, I'm very impressed with your good character.:thumbup:

That's a good thing you did, mudpuppy. You did our hobby a large bit of goodwill. Thank you

Great job on the find, and return. Karma owes you one. Artie

Two thumbs up from me !!

That was a nice find and a great thing you did returning the ring to that young lady.
Can you remember the numbers that came in on the white gold.

Thank you for all your kind comments my Friends, I have been encouraged to attempt returns as often as possible by the wonderful examples of experiences some of the long time hunters have shared on the forum, I DO understand it is a personal matter, whether to attempt to return something or not, I have no judgement on those that dont. in fact I can clearly understand the reasonings..I do not think it exhibits any moral flaw or moral superiority regarding the subject by either parties.

The returns allows us to share a little Good Will out there in the World that needs as much of it as possible, and what an honor it is to do something good for a stranger, those opportunities dont come along often ..I'm blessed to be able to walk this Planet and do what I like to do, and plenty of folks helped me out in the past, so I'm just trying to get even if I can in my own mind at least..Pay it Forward so to speak...:please:

I dont remember looking at the TID, jarrow, but it was that sweet gold sound...usually when I see scratchmarks in the sand its car keys or a cellphone..cellphones hit high like a hotwheels car, and keys can be in the jumpy penny tones...thanks again Brothers...
