My first Teknetics

I am going to purchase my Mirathis Teknetics. Was all set on getting the T2 Classic but just saw the Patriot. Any thoughts on how these may compare, which may be better?

The T2 is a reliable and proven detector that continue finding items, must admit have never heard or seen anyone using the other machine that you have mentioned,it may well be a good machine but statistics tell me that for for every Patriot being used 1000s of T2's must be still in use, this fact just on its own tells me a alot.

I have been using my T2 for years and still will be for many more years.

According to specs and the few posts I have seen on other forums, the Patriot is an F70 for a lesser price and an enhanced paint job. The T2 and F70 are very good detectors and you will have to look at the many posts that compare them to decide on what you will go for. The price should be very similar. I had asked the same question on the Fisher forum a while back.

I know one thing about the Patriot...the grip is round. Seems like a small issue but I have 10s of thousands of hours on the T2 ( I have 2 of them and hunt every day) and I can tell by just looking at the Patriot that the T2 handle (oval) is way better.

I feel the oval is a much better grip and more comfortable than the round. I would much rather swing my T2 than my Fisher F2.

The T2 Classic hast the better (pistol) grip and more VDI numbers (T2=40, Patriot=15) for the iron range.
The Patriot has programs to store the setting, but to set up the T2 just takes seconds.
In slow SPEED setting the Patriot can go deeper than the T2.
The Patriots Threshold setting carries over to the disc setting. Not so on the T2.
Threshold can help to run the unit more stable in disc mode on the Patriot.

It is hard to pick one over the other.

The T2/F75/F70 are all built on the same platform with the same core engine but with some programming differences.
Tons use all three, the success rates are comparable for owners that learn their chosen units.

I have used the F70 for three seasons now and have experimented and explored the settings and results to a deep level and my jaw has not stopped dropping since the first hunt.

I prefer the Fisher design because I am not only a coin shooter but a dedicated jewelry hunter so the 15 number range in iron and the slightly less compressed upper end is more friendly to my kind of hunting in my sites and I have hunted in extreme iron too and have no issues.
The T2 is said to be excellent in iron for relic hunters because of that expanded iron range but I have friends that use that one and I know for sure jewelry and coins are not a problem either.

I like the option the Fishers have to use both DD and concentric coils and I do enjoy using both, the Patriot is supposed to be an exact F70 clone so that should be an option on that one too.

The Patriot is going to be an upper end one step below the flagship unit at an upper end entry level unit price and knowing what I know about its abilities to me this is shocking.

The F75 anniversary edition with DST and most features for $500 is a great value.
The $499 T2 Classic is very popular...probably discounted from many dealers off of that price.
The fully loaded F75 LTD and 2 coils was just lowered $300 to the $700 price point.
The top of the line T2 Special Edition with all the features is being advertised for $699.

Never before have so many top end models in so many flavors with so many features and abilities have been offered in such a full range of price points.
It is a good time in history to be a treasure hunter.

Make your choice using the feature list of each type, they all will work well if you spend the time to learn them.

If you decide on a Patriot,

It is a Fisher F70 with new cosmetic treatment - exactly the same proven detector. Now called the AmeriTek Patriot.

It is available ONLY direct from Teknetics at their "Tekneticsdirect" website

Authorized dealers are an important part of the new marketing program.

In order to get $50 off the price and free shipping contact one of the forum sponsor dealers for advice and a discount code to use when you order on the website.

Joe, I just PM'd you some more imformation.
