After being patient and following everything I have learned from these forums, Eureka!! I went out to my little patch (80 acres) and sat down. From my vantage point on the hill I could see were the water was running once long ago (ten years) because it has started to run once more. I took carefull note of where the oldest trees were and set to laying out a simple grid 20ft x3ft. It was not long before I got my first 1c piece followed by a 10c and a very strong steady signal that stayed put on TID at SILVER. At almost 10 inches my first ring appeared!! But wait, someone had taken to it with a saw of some kind! Still its mine now. Also noted that the rest of the copper coins were fairly deep as well. Only the light weight $1.00 coins were at 2-3inches. So thanks again to all you committed folk out there for sharing your info on these forums.!! Also found that paper towel stops glare when taking closeups!
