My First Silver This Year With The GTI 1500.......

I put a couple of hours into some silver searching and did find a very worn King George V quarter. It was very worn and the date was all gone. But, Silver is silver ! That EZ-Dig-R sure works great. It was a great christmas gift, and today was the first time I used it. It saves a lot of time and is built solid. I had to get a lot of pennies in order to get one silver coin. The GTI served me well, as I was searching some nice manicured lawns.

Glad to hear Stan's digger works so well. Been thinking about getting one. What do they cost, I can' remember? I have one of his EZ-Handles and they work great on the heavy detectors with the big coils. I was going to build a digger like that at one time but Stan beat me to it.
Sometime soon I'm going to put together a little gizmo for probing for and digging coins to about six inches deep without having to squat down or bend over - since I have a bum back anyway.

That is one heck of an idea Bill. Considering most people who detect are beyond a mature age, that leaves a lot of guys with potential back problems. Retrieving coins while standing would be a great addition to detecting tools. Your idea is one of those that keeps one awake all night planning.
Go for it!

Yeah and I've got a bum back. Tore it up on the job back in 88 and was soon put out to pasture by Workmens Comp. I hated it but had no choice.

Okay John, I've resisted the urge to get a 250 but that digging tool looked like it would work great in my area. So I ordered one. Can't have to many tools.

Now that you mention it...I found this pic on another forum from someone that bought one. A digging tool that you stand up to use. I am waiting to hear from him where he bought it and how much. Maybe you have seen these before, if not hope it helps.

Nice little rig but made for digging only. My gizmo is simple to make and consists of a seven eights-inch hardwood dowel 3-4 feet long with a quarter-inch shaft from a Phillips screwdriver ( with end ground down for probing ) mounted in one end and a two-inch putty knife blade mounted in the other. To top it off - a couple of rubber handle bar grips mounted at either end on the shaft for your hands to grip. Saw one years ago being used by a guy with a bum back and it worked great. Will let you all know how it works.

Is the EZ Digger good for only digging coins, or can it be used for relics and jewelry? It looks interesting, and I don't have a digger at all yet and want to get one before Spring hits...soon here in Michigan I hope. Please let me know. I don't want to have to buy more than one digger if possible.
Thanks
Curt

What is that fulcrum ball made of and does it slide up and down? Thanks.
