My first silver of the year

Larry (IL)

Well-known member
is a no date Standing Liberty quarter, but just the same I was thrilled. Within inches of the quarter was a 1901 IH and 1919 Wheat, pocket spill maybe. Lots of other interesting goodies too as you can see. I enjoy finding the non coin items almost as much as the coins themselves. The little teapot looks like pewter and is smashed, but neat and the swastika is a good luck token from 1910 and from the Excelsior shoe company. A monopoly car, shell presidents token, a little metal cigarette.....:smoke: and other oddballs rounded out the two hour hunt the other day. One of the three wheats is a 1909 but no S or VDB on the back...................but one of these days.

Glad the weather is allowing you to get out. And, congratulations on finding some really cool items.

Looks to have been a good 2 hours spent! Those Excelsior Shoe Co. tokens are cool and ANY SLQ is a very nice find! Congrats!

Larry, great finds! Glad to hear that things are melting and letting you get out. Congrats on the years first silver!:clapping:

I'm ready.

Ahhh yes variety is the spice of life, and metal detecting. Looks like a nice fruitful outing, I'm looking foreward to a bit of the same this week after returning from the deep south, and doing my second addiction... fishing :)
