Hello everyone,

As I am peaty new in this game, this is the second time I post something. On the other hand I am very grateful to every one wrote here. I learned a lot, just riding your messages. I am living in Antigua West Indies Caribbean. I mostly use my metal detector (Excalibur 1000) on the beach, dry sand as well as salty water.
Today was a great day I had just an hour and half for the beach, but steel I found my first silver coin. 1900 silver shilling. It was on dry sand under a palm tree.

Good hunting and all the best to everyone.

Very nice find in good shape too! The fact it was in the dry sand out of the salt is probably why it wasn't more corroded.
I swing an Excal 1000 here in Bermuda and I'm loving it. Just got the Excal last week and already some nice finds. How's the hunting in Antigua? I used to work on Mustique off of St. Vincent but didn't have a detector then, sure wished I did.

Hi,
It seems to be peaty fine. There are not so many people embracing this hobby. Most of the stuff are (probably as everywhere) the coins, mostly the EC clad, some new American coins, and on certain beaches coins from all over the world, lost by the tourists.(most of them new coins) but still interesting. For example two days ago I found a France
