My first ring found in water

I took my Excal to the lake today and found my first "water" ring. It is a class ring from Kokomo High. I've already emailed the school on how to get in touch with me about returning it to the owner.

It had the initials, but I don't understand the mark "val". Since he lost the ring, it probably doesn't mean valedictorian.

I've already found gold with it, just not a ring until today. I'll be going out Monday and there should be quite a few fresh targets from then until the end of summer. By then I'm hoping to get back down to Florida.
