My first pre-1900 coin!

I finally found one! Seaching a very small residential park my hunting partner remembered, I found this 1883 "cents" liberty head nickel, earlier this year. I had just found a 1958 Jefferson, so I figured it was another recently minted nickel. Since that day, I found this 1903 Liberty head nickel, the 1919D Liberty dime and this old silver ladies ring on a night hunt several weeks ago. The day I found this small padlock(no markings), my partner found an 1895 Indian Head. This little park is only about 100 feet by 140 feet or so. Just grass with trees around the edge. I plan on finishing it tomorrow night I hope. I hunt with an XS-2A Pro and a coin search 8". I bought a 5" excellerator for it that I haven't hooked up yet, but want to try some old trashy spots with it. HH

That`s Cool, I also found my first 1800`s coin this year. I found a 1897 barber dime in excellent shape. In that same small circle i found 1917 walker half and 2 unreadable buffalo nickles all were first for me! Keep digging and good luck

Thanks, and nice finds yourself. I have found those two V nickels, but can't find a buffalo to save my life! My hunting buddy found one while we were hunting together one day, but I can't seem to get one. I'm not crying about the liberty heads though. Your dime is great! I found a 1901 Barber dime at our old middle school(built in 1910). Your half is great. I have yet to find a walking liberty or standing. Good luck hunting.
Matt
