My first piece of jewelry

Sand Dollar

New member
I managed to get a 1 hr opportunity to hunt the surf this morning.
The first few feet of the surfline was about 3-4ft deep an very rocky.
It was difficult to get the scoop dug in, but I persevered.
The PI pro found this small cross. It does not seem to be silver; so no real value. But finding it, gave me the will to carry on. Before that it was bottle crowns and pieces of wire etc. I was cussing myself for buying this machine. Well I will continue for a while longer and see.
Here is the small cross (1 3/4"x1")

Did you inspect the back of the crucifix with a magnifying glass? Sometimes there's a really tiny ".925" or ".975" stamped lightly into the metal which indicates it's silver.

Silver comes out of the sand in different conditions. Sometimes shiny, sometimes blue, sometimes blue/black or sometimes buff (like your crucifix).

Check it with a glass. I wouldn't be surprized at all if it's silver.

Congrats on your first jewelry! Welcome to the club. When you find your first gold ring your gonna be hooked. It's an addiction but it's a good addiction. I still get shaky every time I see gold in my scoop.

Go find some gold!

Cheers,
Steve
