My first Palladium ring!

Today I found my first palladium ring! I didn’t even know that it’s worth more than gold these days. I was hunting with my NOX 800 at high tide. The tide was pulling the sand out and I saw this ring sitting flush with the sand before my coil swung over it. I gave it a swing just for fun and it sounded great! It felt heavy but all I saw stamped on it was PD. I was thinking it was platinum till I got home and looked up what PD stands for. Always nice to find something on your birthday. I turned 5-0 today.

MORE expensive than gold!
I bow to your awesomeness.

I don't see many of those listed as being found. Very nice find and worth a few bucks for sure. A couple years ago someone posted one as being found and two weeks later I found one. I also had to look up the information to see what I had. Hope you bring me luck LOL

Found the ring at the right time - palladium was playing second fiddle to platinum with a 3 (palladium) to 1 (platinum) ratio for years. Simply amazing; now palladium is actually more expensive than platinum and the ratio is something like 1:1.65! Best precious metal ring find - better than platinum, better than gold, better than what I ever find.

I have a ring marked PD and no other markings which I thought was odd. I thought it was silver, thanks for clueing me in. It has small diamonds that I thought were CZ until I checked them. Thanks for your post, I hunt allot on the beach and always learning.

Stephens,
Glad you were able to learn from my post. Wouldn’t want you putting that ring in a costume basket and selling it at a garage sale.
