My first old coin with the E-Trac and I scratched it.

I had a little time to kill in town so I stopped at a home I've hunted previously with my Explorer, F70 and MXT. The first thing I found was a gold-plated ring, then I dug an eaten up zinc penny a llttle over 4in deep. The next hit I got was similar to the zinc but a little deeper so I wasn't being careful when I dug it. After all who cares if you scratch a zinc penny.lol I ended up with this IH penny with a nice scratch on the obverse. I guess I should remember to be careful even if you think it is a stinkin zinc.

Nice IH! About the scratch... Look at it as that was your mistake that was already made and that silver dollar from the 1800's you will dig next week will come out pristine with no scratches! :)
