My first old coin with my new MXT

I stopped at a farm house today to ask him who owned the one room school house that was close to his farm, and we got to talking a bit, and I asked him if I could detect his yard. Well he said yes but I only had one hour of time. So the next question was if he minded if I checked for one hour today then returned on my next day off work. He agreed! :clapping:

well I dug several iffy deep targets that were junk, found the key, few shells, then I got this real faint signal that was bouncing from the 50's to the 70's on the VDI, I swang the coil over it in all directions, and every way gave a real faint beep. I pinpointed and dug. The ground is bone dry, so dry that it is like brown concrete. Well 7" down I pulled out this 1895 Indian. I was pretty happy the MXT got that depth with the 6x10 coil and DRY, I mean extremely dry ground!

Man what will this machine do on coins when the ground is wet?!

Fantastic, nothing like finding an Indian. Good job.

I love it! When I was reading your post, I was thinking it was an Indian Cent with the bouncing. That's how they sound and read. Oh, BIG congratulations on your wonderful find. If there's cents there, there should be silver. Just take your time and keep that coil to the soil and go slow. I'm so happy for you!!!! I love those Indians! HH to all, Nancy

I ONCE dug an indian at 7" with the ace, but the ground had a lot more moisture at that time, we have not had any measurable rain here since JUNE!!!
the ground is so dry!

I can't get back there till next week, and it is a LARGE property, I plan on spending several hours next week when I return. I hope to take some pictures of the house and my finds in the ground.........if I find some goodies that is :clapping:

Oh, you'll find some "goodies" for sure. It might take you time after time going back to the property, but never give up. Walk it one way, then the opposite way, then walk it diagonal and then the opposite. I can't wait to hear more. You've got permission and the ground will wait till you can return. That's what's so nice. It's not going anywhere!!! HH to all, Nancy

Hey Goes4ever, did you make some videos with your Ace and put them on You Tube. I was checking out some detecting videos on You Tube and came across some made by someone using the name Goes4ever with an Ace and I thought about you. :clapping:

I guess I need to send some of the rain we are getting down here your way!
