My first month's finds, I'm impressed.

I purchased my first MD about a month ago, a Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505. Since then I'm usually out just about everyday after work and on the weekends. I plan on investing into something of higher quality later but I figured I had to learn how to walk before I run. I'm actually pretty impressed with the results. In about a months time this is the stuff I've found. A whole bunch of clad, quarters, nickles dimes and pennies, even a couple of wheaties. But my best finds have been these in the pictures. 6 rings, a couple of Sacajewea dollars and a couple of bullets and a pewter crucifix. The ring second from the right is 14k white gold with three little diamonds. The one just left of that looks like a Lord of the Rings replica ring. All of the jewlery was found at the school across the street from where I live. This is such a blast not knowing what it is before you dig. Looking forward to more adventures.

I have one question. Has anyone used or had any luck with the 4in gold coil?

Looks like you've been having good luck at the school. The rings are really nice. I have a 4" coil for my 505 and use it in a really trashy place in a park and in the childrens play area. It works great in both spots, you can pick through all the junk and get the goodies that were masked by all the pull tabs. I loose depth with it but I don't want to dig large holes in those areas.

hi starnscot. welcome. i'm impressed too! nice haul you have there. your're getting quite a collection of rings. wtg. hh,

Congrats on all your finds, you've done well, the rings look great. With all the hours your putting in your going to find a lot of loot. Like you said, it is a blast not knowing what you'll find next. hh

Wow!!!...All in 1 month??? Very impressive...I do not know why I cannot find gold rings or jewelry...I dig every pull tab and screw cap signal I get, and all I find are pall-tabs and screw caps...lol

Thanks to all of you for replying. It's nice being here. I went back to the school yesterday after work and found a few more coins and a batting cage token (strange). Also, a gold soccer pin. But I have to say the strangest (or coolest) thing I found was a small silver spike or some type of bolt. I wasn't sure and was about to throw it away when I noticed a small hole near the head of it. After looking at it closer I saw an inscription on it that said "John 3:16". It goes on a necklace and it's supposed to symbolize one of the spikes drove into the hands and feet of Jesus on the cross. I think some of the success I'm having is because I'm learning the behavior of my MD.

Hi !

I'm impressed too. Congratulations for this fantastic first month detecting.

But I have a question.

Why on earth thinking of an upgrade with such an impressive result?

I'd think of a backup, not an upgrade. A more expensive detector wouldn't necessarily find more than your 505 : seems you're doing pretty well !

Ya know, I never really thought of it that way. I guess I'd like to get something that is a little more percise. I'm definetly happy with the 505 though.
