haven't posted in a while, just have not found anything much to post. was able to go out for awhile today and finally found my first merc. was searching in an old park and was hunting around the trunk of an old tree and found this 1919 no mint mark dime. i did the happy dance. i hope i did it right as i have never seen it demonstrated. the ring is a .925 silver i found about two weeks ago. i was in a tot lot and had not found much but a couple of pennies, when this popped out of the ground. my wife has had it on ever since. barely got it off her to take a picture of it. well as always, thanks for looking and happy hunting. be careful out there.
thanks everybody for looking. katz, i think the stone is probably a garnet. that is what my wife said. chris, i must have done the dance right, as everybody was laughing and pointing. roscoe, sorry about the blinding thing, will put a warning next time. roger, i will go back and see what else may be around. i forgot to mention that the merc was only about two inches deep.
