My First Large Cent (s)- 1830 and more!

No pics yet, but yesterday in the woods by old cellar holes, using an Ace 250 I got a hit I thought sounded like a buried can. Dug it as it repeatedly read penny. About 2 inches down, Lo, what looked like a 7 up screw on lid was a large cent. And in the whole was another , and another. A foot away was 1 more, and an a more ovalish shaped token? "Bank of (cant read), ? Rider shooting an arrow.? The only date on one of the four large cents legiable was 1830. I am reading up on how to make the others more readable if possible. They all had wholes punched in them. Also found a Scoville "Best Extra Rich button" gold plated? And although slightly crushed a beautifully adorned large horse sleith bell with the letters M and B on it. I am in my GLORY. I know they arent in the best of shape, but its like I crossed a line into a new era. My previous earliest coins where Barber dimes and Indian head cents. I want to go every day this week but am preparing for our 25th wedding anniversary and owe it to my wife to finish painting the house for big company coming in.

Nice hunt for sure. Be careful cleaning those old coppers. You might end up with no details left. I dug an 1819 LC last year that lost about 50 percent of it's detail just from taking it out of the ground and driving it home. Real interesting collection of relics too. Go hunting back at that site asap. You probably have another 25th anniversary coming up sometime.

Oh man, that is freakin' awesome!:please:That Ace 250 really rocks!!!:super:Congrats on all the great old finds, ESPECIALLY those large cents! Take it easy painting the house. Don't over do it. There's some more stuff there in the ground just waitin' for you to swing your detector over it and DIG IT UP! Best of luck to ya'! Happy Hunting!:)
