MY FIRST GOOD COIN WITH F- 75

GA DIGGER

New member
I DUG THIS 1799 LARGE CENT AT AN OLD HOUSE SITE SATURDAY WHILE ON A RELIC HUNTING TRIP TO VIRGINIA. THE SITE HAD BEEN HUNTED FOR YEARS BUT THE F-75 PROVED ITS SELF TO ME BY PULLING OUT SEVERAL GOOD ITEMS . THE COIN WAS ABOUT 8" DEEP ,I ASLO FOUND SEVERAL FLAT BUTTONS AND A COUPLE OF MINNIE BALLS . I HAVE USED A LOT OF METAL DETECTORS OVER THE LAST 20+ YEARS OF HUNTING AND WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH DEPTH AND ABILITY TO PICK UP GOOD SIGNALS OUT OF ALL OF THE OLD IRON AROUND THIS HOUSE.

What mode were you using on the F75 and how was the audio intensity on the Large cent?

I WAS IN DISC.MODE SET AT 15, SENS. SET AT 80 ,I HAD IT SET ON 3 TONES , IT CAME IN LOUD AND CLEAR HIGH PITCH AND IT READ IN THE HIGH 80'S ON THE METER ,SORRY BUT I DONT REMEBER THE EXACT NUMBER IN THE 80'S.

Thanks digger!!!

Looks like so called "hunted out" sites will be like new again....

Nice find on the 1799 largecent. Guess the F75 just about paid for itself on that find according to Redbook. AG/$1000

That is a most cool coin. And in fairly decent shape too!
