My first Gold

I have seen several posts about how Galveston is hunted clean. The CTX 3030 is awesome, I dug so many targets today. Most haven't seen light in years, including a set of ford car keys that were almost 14" down that I would say have been there at least 2-3 years. But "my precious" was found at the water line about 10" and rang a solid 12-17. I thought for sure I had found a pull tab. As I have dug several hundred since getting my machine, but was told gold can sound just like a pull tab. Well, here is to all those pull tabs...

Wtg congrats

Sweet shiny GOLD very nice

Congratulations! Nice find.
I've only tried the beach at Galveston (East Beach) once with my Prizm 6T and it wasn't exactly magnificent. Just pennies and trash.
I think some beach goers must see a person with a metal detector and pitch a penny here and there for laughs sometimes, LOL.

I have a CTX 3030 on the way. I'm sure the learning curve will be steep but I'm game.

Back to killin' snakes...

Nice!

Stewart and the other places from 61st to the jetties get hit hard by Robert and his buds. That is a great find for there and a rare one as the locals diggers seem to be there 24/7. I have found my best stuff, from a beach, more toward 61st, from the San Luis Hotel.

Congrats on the find.

It was so hot, muggy, and miserable at Galveston today. Even in the water, I felt horrible, so at 2 I suggested we head home and stop at a fresh water lake or go play bingo. Of course she picked bingo... That's ok cause I hit $750 bingo all on my lonesome. Been a good weekend. Now to bet batteries for my scale to weight the ring. I'm thinking 5-6 grams of 14k...

Now you know the women is always right, congratulation on the $750.I used to live in Galveston, worked next to the old hotel flagship next to the pier it was on before Ike blew it away, don't know if it's still there or what but I got 9 gold rings in 8 days. Stewart beach gave up a lot of rings too. Gene
