My First Gold Ring with Garrett ATX

Hi,

I have been using a new Garrett ATX a few days now and did a big write up on it at http://www.findmall.com/read.php?96,1983695

As part of that I went wading at Lake Tahoe testing how the detector handles black sands and hot rocks. No issues at all to report there, the ATX just ground balanced it all out and made no sound unless a target was under the coil. I got my first gold ring in the process, 14K with five little 1/10th carat diamonds.

Depth of the ring was nothing exceptional, just a scoop deep. Got a handful of change and when hunting beach typical beach trash and a couple earrings, cheap jewelry type. Nothing momentous to report. The ATX ran clean as can be with no issues. But needless to say I was real happy getting a nice ring on my first water outing with it!

Thats a real nice ring, and that was a very good write up too..:please:.I liked the part about how a guy who hunts by ear should have no problem adjusting to the ATX..

Nothing better then a Nice piece of Gold, a good feeling!! Congrads Steve...

Way to go Steve

Some might call it beginners luck Steve, but I kinda doubt that.
Lots of experience with a lot of different detectors might have a
little bit to do with it. Congrats on the nice gold ring with the small
diamonds.

I would call it dumb luck. I was just the first person to put a coil over the ring. But thanks for the thought!

All the things needed when hunting, dumb luck does play a part.

Gray Ghost Amphibians's are on there way should be there today, have a safe trip and let us know how they work....HH joe

Now that the 'ice' has been broken, may HI provide a bumper crop of gold bands and booty!
