I went to a jeweler I know and showed him the diamond ring I found yesterday.

He said that it is a higher quality than a department store ring.

After cleaning and polishing the ring would be worth at least $300 retail, maybe more.

I went by Wal-Mart and looked at their rings with the same size diamond and they looked very plain compaired to the one I found. The diamonds were less briliiant than the one I found. Their rings were $ 200 to $ 250.

I guess some of you guys have been through this before. The jeweler buys jewelry at below whole sale and has a considerable mark up. If I got the ring cleaned and polished, I could probably get a lot more money selling the ring on the Internet than what the jewler would give me. So I still have it. It's worth something to me as a trophy.

Another thing to consider right now is that gold jewelry is fixing to go up in price due to a rise in gold prices.

This is by far the best find I have ever dug:)

HH,

Great way to start the new year. Those who sleep - do not reap. Get those machines out there. I'm going out Wednesday and I could only wish to find a ring like that. Congrats!!!

Awsome find! Whoever had it probably paid about $800.00 retail for that ring! WOO HOO! Do the arky barky, and you turn yourself around, That's what it's all about!
