MY FIRST FIVE MONTHS

YAKE

New member
For Christmas I got a Sovereign GT as my first detector and with it having a great time at San Diego's beaches finding close to 800 coins, sun glasses, toys costume jewelry, aluminum trash AND THIS STUFF:

Very nice work Yake! I am a fellow San Diego beach hunter. I was wondering what coil you are using and if you are finding the majority of you gold in the wet or dry sand? I am using an Explorer SE with 10x14 Excelerator coil, and have only found one gold ring in the past two years, however I have found 24 silver rings. I just signed on to this site, but I plan to show my finds soon.

I hunt damp sand most of the time with the 10" coil that came with my GT. Like a lot of us locals I hunt Mission and PB most of the time.

Jerry

Your first five months are far better than my first year with the GT. My compliments! Keep going!!!
