My first finds with the MXT

G'day all from Aussie, well I finally managed to give the MXT a run today for the first time. I went to a vacant block near my home, which I have detected with other brands of detectors and in my opinion I had cleaned it out - I was wrong:surprised: After ground balancing, started to detect and got a very strong signal, vdi 84, 4" deep, out came a 1918 English penny a few more steps another 1943 penny. A few minutes later another strong signal, this time it was a 1935 Centenary of Melbourne Medal in excellent condition:thumbup: After about 30 more minutes, with a few junk targets in my bag, I received another good signal, vdi was jumping from 78 to 84, pinpoint tells me 6" deep, it was a badge of some sort, shaped like a flag with some symbols on it which I couldn't make out (see photo), as I was about to fill in the hole I waved the coil over it again, another signal , a 1951 penny:clapping: Wow, I am so pleased with my MXT, what a machine, I should have had one years ago. I also managed to get hold of a 6x10 DD coil from the Aust. Dealer, it should be here tomorrow. Can't wait to get out again:detecting:

Cheers,
Kevin

I think your hooked! congrats on an awesome day and a great detector! Its nice to see Aussie finds, most posts are from the usa and we dont get to see these kind of finds often. Is any of that silver?

Hi Aarong81, Yes I'm hooked that's for sure!!! No silver, the centenary medal looks like it was coated with either silver or nickel. Hopefully I will be able to post a few more finds soon.

Cheers,
Kevin
