Well I went out to my local park a few blocks from where I live and I found some coins. Oh I found can tabs, crushed pop cans, foil etc...
I had my Ace 250 set to all metal mode with only 4 bars. Here is a pix of what I found.
It is 1 quarter
1 nickel
1 dime
2 pennies.

:detecting:Great stuff:detecting:

Not only a good start, but sounds like your starting off right. Dig in all metal to learn what the machine is telling you, tabs and all to start off.
If the area gets really trashy, the 4.5 sniper coil will help. It's a good coil.
WTG !!!

That's a start, it only gets better with experience.

:wiggle:Well start a tally of the coins and a running total so that at the end of the year, you can tell us how well you did. I was reading some older posts from new years. I think its a great idea. People knew how many dollars, halfs, quaters, dimes, nickels, and pennies and rings. They also knew wheats, mercs, barbers, and so on. Once the snow melts here, im going to start doing that.:wiggle:
