My First Excalibur Finds...

Craig-PI

New member
Well, I got done with work early and I wanted to check out my new Excalibur as I have talked with a couple guys about a strange and annoying sound coming from it... The threshold changes from a steady almost silent sound to a loud buzzing sound that doesn't go away unless I run the coil near my scoop but the annoying sound comes back... I'm going to call Minelab and see what they say... It doesn't matter where I have my sensitivity it comes back, I've tried auto, I've tried almost no sensitivity at all and the annoying sound comes back.. the only way to get rid of it is to run silent search and who knows what I could be missing. Maybe the sound is normal but I don't like it...I'll see what Minelab has to say... Well, I spoke with Minelab and they said the sound was normal that I will get that low grunt after I get a null in the threshold and it won't return to a normal threshold tone until I go over a good target...

Anyway... I decided to try a trashy beach to test out the detector and it was nice not digging too much iron, I dug 2 bottlecaps the rest of the junk was acceptable lol... I was pleasantly surprised to find the white gold braided ring and then the junker pirate ring along with the change and junker earring.

I was hunting the damp slope before the waters edge...

I'm new excal owner to but I think its a normal response to iron..easy to swing scoop near coil and back to high pitch...your right..nice not digging so much iron..rings and jewelry are a unmistakable sweet sound....

Just kidding Craig.........you got the deadly combination now......Excal and White's PI......no gold will be safe in Connecticut any more.

Robert, thats what I was doing, when that buzz started I swung my coil over the scoop thx though :)
