My first Etrac coin find!

A 1980 penny! LOL!

Its not much, but I was only out for 10-15 minutes - behind my office just before dark, and as soon as I could sneak away from my clients!

Its a start!

It showed 11-43. Standard coin mode. About 3"

The best part about this was I felt sure it would be a coin before I started to dig, and there is lots of trash. With my previous MD, I never could know for sure. Its a great feeling to be able to connect to this machine in my first few minutes out! Looking forward to getting out again soon!

Quick question - off the topic...

About how long does the new Etrac battery last with minimal lcd light on? I fully charged it for 18 hours... just wondering.

Thanks!

My first find was a memorial penny too! The battery will last close to 14 hours or so. I know I've put in close to 10 hours on one charge and never got below the "last bar". I've never even heard the low battery beep.

Yep - my first coin was a memorial cent too - I was happy - it proved to me the machine worked OK !

I do a lot of night hunting - some times a night till dawn - it's a lot of fun - no one around - you can really focus - never timed how long the battery lasts - I always charge it before I go out - the battery specs. are in your owners manual - I believe it uses approx. 25% more power to run the display light.

Good luck this season ! --- Mark

You can offset some of the battery drain by the display light, by using head phones. Head phones utilize less battery then the internal speakers on the E-Trac. Not to mention the ability to pick up those faint signals on the deep coins, coins on edge and signals that are masked by nearby trash or iron. I use the Sun Ray Pro Golds.

Congratulations on finding your first coin with the E-Trac, it is an awesome machine. Look forward to seeing your finds in the future. -- Randy

Welcome to the Etrac family:detecting: You're in for a treat. The more you use it the better it gets. Look forward to your posts. WTG!

Congratulations! on your first coin and the E-Trac!

Congrats on your Etrac purchase & your first coin find with it.-----Those Lincolns can be good training coins/targets.----The more you use this amazing detector the more you appreciate it (and the better you get with it).

This is only my second say and the memorials have really helped me enjoy this new addition. Congrats I'm sure good coins are in our future...

HAHAA!!! I haven't seen a penny signal yet that I'd pass up. Picking up a random penny in a parking lot isn't beyond me either LOL I dig for'em, might as well bend my knees for one ;)

Bridger, if you are new to detecting, you are in for a real treat with the Etrac!
