Does anyone have any experience with gemstones? I found this this afternoon at the beach with the 6inch HF coil.

Nice find! Does it have any thing on the inside stamped?

There is a number 5 in the inside. That is all I could see with the magnifying glass.Does that mean anything?

That could be a size? Or maybe 585 which means 14k Gold. Go to your local jewelery store and have him test for you.

I just looked at it again and I can barely see the half of an 8 next to the 5 so it looks like its probly 585.

Congrats on a very nice find! i really like it. I have found only one and it is on my wifes hand, Beale.

That is a nice one , I would have wet myself if I had found that.

Looks like Barnacle Bill's tips paid off for you! HH Randy

Real nice sparkles...bling, bling.

Thanks for all the tips and help my friends. I think its just beginners luck though. But I do like the game for sure.

T ,the mate is on another beach and it was lost two years ago.The owners of it were looking for a week with their fingers and could not find it,so that is next weeks destination for me.
How deep could it have gone in two years?? Could someone with more experience take a guess at that.
It is supposedly on a spot of beach where the waves cannot get to.High and dry.
