Hey Guys,
I am new to the site. I am close to purchasing my first metal detector. If I had to break down my uses it would probably look like this 75% of the time relics and coin type searches. 20% on the beach or near water and the last 5% I make chase a nugget if I go on vacation. In my area the most common type of hunting is for civil war era relics, old home sites etc. Whites detectors tend to be the norm for this area (South East North Carolina). However I am leaning toward the mine lab Sovereign GT for its depth. Many areas around here have been hit and hit again, I feel that having a deeper probing machine might improve my chances. One dealer I have spoken to even suggested exterra 30 or 50 models. Also someone suggested a white because I plan on mostly relic/coin type hunting.
I would love to hear from someone with experience. Also some recommendation on dealers would be great to.
Thanks,
Joey
